１ わたしたちの救主なる天の神と、わたしたちの望みであるイエス・キリストとによつて[i]キリスト、イエスの使徒に任命されたパウロから、
２ 信仰によるわたしの[1]真実な私の子テモテへ。[2]私たちの父なる神とわたしたちの主イエス・キリストから、恵みとあわれみと平安とがあなたにありますように。
３ わたしがマケドニヤに向かって出発しようとした時に[3]依頼していたように、あなたはエペソにとどまっていて、だれかが違った教義を教えたり、
４ [4]作り話や[5]はてしのない[6]系図などに[7関心を持ってはならないと彼らに[8]命じなさい。（そのようなことは信仰による[9天の]神の務を[10]果すものではなく、むしろ[11]不審感を[12]助長するものです。）
５ しかし、この[13]最後の[14]命令は、[15]純粋な心と正しい良心、そして[16]偽りのない信仰と愛とから出ているです。
６ ある者たちはこの命令に背いて[17]踏み外し[、8]意味のないむだ話に[19]をしています。
7彼らは律法の教師でありたいと願っていまるのに、自分たちが何を話しているのか、何を自信満々に断言しているのか分かってません。
８ しかし、私たちは、法は誰でも正しく用いるなら、良いものであることを知っています。
９．すなわち、法は正しい人のために[20]制定されたのではなく、逸脱する者、[21]法に従わない者、不敬虔な者と罪ある者たち、[22]神聖を汚す者と[23]不敬な者、父を殺す者、母を殺す者、人殺し、
１０ [24]性的な不道徳者、[25]同性愛者、誘拐する者、偽る者、[26]偽証者、そのほか健全な教義に逆らう者たちのために定められていることを[27]理解しているならば（良いもの）なのです。
１１ それは、天の神の祝福である栄光の福音に適合するものであって、[28]私に託されたのです。
１２ 私は、私を力づけて下さった方、私たちの主キリスト・イエスに感謝ささげています。天の神はわたしを忠実な者と認めてこの務に任命して下さったからです。
１３ わたしは以前には、神をそしる者、迫害する者、[29]傲慢な者でした。しかしわたしは、これらの事を無知と不信仰の中でしたのであわれみをいただいたのです。
１４ そして、わたしたちの主の恵みが、キリスト・イエスにある信仰と愛とに共に、[30]非常に多くまし加えられたのです。
１５ 「キリスト・イエスは、罪人を救うためにこの世に来て下さった」という言葉は、[31]真実であって、[32]完全に受けいれるにべき言葉です。わたしは、その罪人の中でも[33]最もひどい者なのです。
１６ しかし、わたしがあわれみをいただいたのはこの事のためです。すなわち、まず私に対して、イエス・キリストが[34]完全な[35]忍耐を[36]表わして下さり、今後、彼を信じて永遠のいのちに至る者の[37]原型とするためです。
１７ [38]永遠の[39]王、不滅にして[40]不可視であられる唯一の天の神に、ほまれと栄光とが世々から世々にいたるまでありますように、アァメン。
１８ 私は以前あなたに対してなされた諸々の預言に従って、この命令をあなたに委ねます。わが子テモテよ。あなたはこれらによって[41]立派に[42]戦いなさい。
１９ [そして、43]健全な[44]良心を保っていなさい。それをある人々は[45]捨て去ったために信仰が[46]難破してしまったのです。
２０ その中には、ヒメナオとアレキサンデルとがいます。わたしは、天の神を冒涜しないことを彼らが[47]学ぶために、彼らをサタンに渡したのです。
1 Timothy 1
1Ti 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the command of God our Savior, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,
1Ti 1:2 to Timothy, my own son in the faith. Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Ti 1:3 Even as I begged you to remain at Ephesus, when I was going to Macedonia, that you might charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
1Ti 1:4 nor to give heed to fables and endless genealogies (which provide doubts rather than the nurture of God in faith).
1Ti 1:5 But the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned,
1Ti 1:6 from which some, having swerved, have turned aside to foolish talking,
1Ti 1:7 desiring to be teachers of the law, neither understanding what they say nor that which they affirm.
1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law is good if a man uses it lawfully,
1Ti 1:9 knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous one, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
1Ti 1:10 for fornicators, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine,
1Ti 1:11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
1Ti 1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who strengthened me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry--
1Ti 1:13 the one who before was a blasphemer and a persecutor and insolent. But I obtained mercy, because being ignorant, I did it in unbelief.
1Ti 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.
1Ti 1:15 Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
1Ti 1:16 But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, as a pattern to those being about to believe on Him to life everlasting.
1Ti 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
1Ti 1:18 This charge I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before about you, in order that you might war a good warfare by them,
1Ti 1:19 holding faith and a good conscience, which some have put away and made shipwreck as to faith.
1Ti 1:20 Among these are Hymeneus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan so that they may learn not to blaspheme.
